The River Ouse flows through the centre of the City fo York on its way to the North Sea. This image is taken about 500m upstream from the hustle and bustle of the city, and yet it could be a world away. Sitting on the steps of the St Peter’s School Boat Club can be a beautifully peaceful place to be.
To take this image I had to lean out over the river and hold the camera just above the water, desperately hoping I wouldn’t over balance, and that the shot would be both in focus and have a level horizon. I’ll try and get back another day when there are no bubbles on the surface of the water so that the reflection is even clearer.
